The Belchertown boys volleyball team fell to PVCA, 3-0, at home in a South league match on Wednesday.
The Orioles earned more points in each proceeding set, but could not solve the Eagles for the second time this season. Set scores were 14-25, 20-25, 23-25.
Shea MacLean mustered eight kills and five blocks for Belchertown, while Arda Cayan (18 assists) and Dara Mao (11 digs) proved to be constantly involved on the court.
PVCA shut out the Orioles, 3-0, on Apr. 7.
Next up for Belchertown is a road match at Chicopee on Friday, May 8 at 5 p.m.
Softball
East Longmeadow 6, Hampshire 4 — The Spartans sprang out to a 4-0 lead after the first inning and held on to down the Raiders.
Rachael Hickox (three hits) and Reygan Horstmann (two doubles) were Hampshire’s best hitters in the defeat.
Ryanne Dubay struck out 11 in a losing effort for the Raiders in the circle.

Softball
Northampton 16, Belchertown 14 — Tuesday’s slugfest featured 37 combined hits between the Blue Devils and Orioles.
Kina Roy (home run) and Lila Roy each had four hits for Belchertown to lead all players. Lila Roy also picked up her 200th career strikeout.
Northampton’s Greta Lepore produced three hits and four RBIs and Avery Hicks homered to lead the victors on offense.
Baseball
Gateway 16, Lee 3 — Theo DeAngelis Page, Jacob Maynard and Roan Boeri each smacked three hits in the Gators’ big win.
Maynard led Gateway with a pair of doubles in the win.
Girls lacrosse
Belchertown 12, Chicopee Comp 7 — The Orioles picked up their fifth win in a row against the Colts.
McKenzie Lepage pocketed five goals to pace Belchertown, while Emma Almeida finished with 10 saves.
Boys lacrosse
North Middlesex 9, Amherst 8 — Sawyer Ferro factored into all but one Hurricanes goal in the non-league defeat.
Ferro had four goals and three assists in the loss.
