The tax override vote coming up in June in Easthampton should be approved. I am retired now and thought about how the city needs this. We can’t allow drastic cuts to take place to police, fire, and schools and departments. It’s unfortunate this has to happen but I believe it would put the city on track to tackle this now.

Money is tight for the citizens, too. I would like the city leaders to consider asking for some help from our distinguished leaders of the Williston Northampton School to pitch in to the payment in lieu of taxes program. Many of the houses along Main Street have been taken off the tax rolls and the large property holdings they have would surely help our city.
