We are fifth grade students at Fort River Elementary School. We, as a class, think that we should be putting a stop to climate change and want to raise awareness. We have started a campaign to do just this! Our goals are to put solar panels on the State House, not just for clean energy but also for the symbolic image it creates. We are also trying to pass the bill S.2569 in the Massachusetts legislature to allow the harmful parts of solar panels and their batteries to be disposed of properly and not harm the environment. If we succeed in this, solar panels would be a much better solution to climate change for the long term. There are many young people against climate change and we are part of that movement.
