The Hopkins baseball team demolished Pioneer, 11-0, in the semifinal round of the Western Mass. Class D tournament on Wednesday to punch its ticket to the championship game.

The Golden Hawks have not allowed a run in four straight games, while scoring 10 runs or more in three of its last four contests.

As the top seed in Class D, Hopkins is in prime position to take its first sectional crown since the 2021 season.

The Hawks will face third-seeded Ware in the finals at a date and time to be determined.

Boys tennis

Class A

Longmeadow 5, Northampton 0 — The Blue Devils could not earn a point in the Class A final against the Lancers.

Longmeadow went 3-0 against Northampton this season, sweeping all three contests.

Baseball

Easthampton 12, Smith Voc 2 — Eight runs in the second inning propelled the Eagles past the Vikings on Wednesday in the five-inning affair.

Christian D’onofrio and Bailey Davis each pocketed three RBIs for Easthampton.

Kaleb Jorritsma was Smith Voc’s only multi-hit getter.

Southwick 11, Gateway 1 — The Gators fell for the first time this season in the loss against the Rams.

Cole Przybyla secured two hits for Gateway.

Granby 11, Mahar 6 — Ten hits from the Rams was the highlight in their win against the Senators on Wednesday.

Three players had two hits, while five more registered one base knock for Granby. Brandon Carillon’s three RBI double counted as the Rams’ most dynamic play of the game.

Carillon and Brodie Funk also combined for 11 strikeouts on the mound.

Late Monday results

Smith Voc 7, Northampton 0 — Kaleb Jorritsma threw a gem on the bump for the Vikings against the Blue Devils, fanning 12 batters and allowing just two hits.

The victory served as Smith Voc’s third shutout of the season.
