The Amherst Golf Club held its Richard Garber Memorial 4 Ball tournament this past weekend and the duo of Jim Worthley and Brad Worthley came out on top.

The Worthley’s managed 26.5 points to claim the title, narrowly getting past Steve Hallquist and Don Hodgkins, who totaled 25 points as a pair.

Golfers play their own ball in a four-ball format, with each two-person team taking the best score between the two per hole.

Adult Pickleball Clinics

Northampton Parks & Recreation is offering spring Pickleball Clinics at the new Ellerbrook Pickleball courts. The Clinics will take place on Monday evenings, beginning on June 1 and running for four weeks through June 22.

Each week’s instruction will focus on a different set of pickleball skills. The first clinic will focus on serves, groundstrokes, & deep returns; the second clinic will focus on mastering the kitchen line & dinking; the third clinic will focus on transition zone & ball resets; and the fourth clinic will focus on game strategy and hitting techniques. You can register for one, multiple or all four clinics.

The clinics are led by Matthew Smith, a Level One Professional Pickleball Registry (PPR) Certified Coach. Clinics will be a maximum of 6 participants for focused and personalized instruction.

Pre-registration is required for each clinic. For more information, contact the Parks & Recreation Department at 413-587-1040, stop by the office at 100A Bridge Road (on the grounds of JFK Middle School), or visit www.northamptonma.gov/recreation.
