GRANBY — Fire destroyed a single-family home at 55 South St. early Monday morning, though no one was injured as a result of the blaze.

The Granby Fire Department responded to the fire at 3:25 a.m. after receiving a call from a next door neighbor. When they arrived at the scene, flames had engulfed the home on all sides.

A vehicle seen in the driveway led responders to think someone was in the building, but the owner confirmed no one was in the house, Fire Chief Evan Briant said in a statement. Property records identify David A. Desilets as the owner.

Six other fire departments assisted the Granby firefighters, including South Hadley Fire Districts 1 and 2, Ludlow Fire Department, Belchertown Fire Department, Westover Fire Department, and Pelham Fire Department. The town was covered by the Hadley Fire Department and Amherst Fire Department.

The cause of the fire remains under investigation by Massachusetts State Police Fire Investigation assigned to the Office of the State Fire Marshal, the Granby Fire Department, and the Granby Police Department.
