I was so heartened to read two recent guest columns regarding trans people. In a time when we are being bombarded with so much negativity and rejection of diversity, it was a pleasure to read columns by Sara Weinberger and Zoe Nell, both calling for non-judgmental acceptance of trans people, at Smith College, in our community and in our country.
I am proud of the Gazette for sharing these messages advocating for inclusiveness and the importance of creating a welcoming and comfortable environment for people of all nationalities, religions and gender identity. We are living in a time where people of any minority group are not feeling safe. I am proud of our state, our county, and our local newspaper.
