MARC ABEL

Easthampton, MA – With deepest sorrow, we announce the passing of Marc William Abel on May 4, 2026, after a courageous battle with cancer. He was 44 years old.

Born on February 23, 1982, in Northampton, Marc was the beloved son of the late Donald and Michaele Abel.

Though his life was marked by tremendous challenges, he faced each day with remarkable strength, resilience, humor, and an unwavering spirit that inspired everyone fortunate enough to know him.

A lifelong sports enthusiast, Marc found joy in cheering from the sidelines, talking passionately about the games, or sharing those experiences with family and friends. Sports were one of the many ways he connected with people and expressed his vibrant love of life.

He leaves behind his devoted fiancรฉ, Jennifer Jordan, whose love and support remained constant throughout his journey. He is also survived by his stepmother, Ann Abel; his brothers, Donald Abel Jr., Thomas (and Jennifer) Abel, and James (and fiancรฉ Kelly) Abel; his stepsiblings, Steven, Amy, and Lans Christenson; his loving aunts, Pam Frenier, Renรฉe Munson, and Denise Houghton.; and his uncle Warren (and Karen) Abel. He additionally leaves behind numerous cousins, nieces, nephews, extended family members, and countless friends who will forever cherish his memory.

Despite the hardships he endured during his illnesses, Marc never allowed cancer to define him. His tenacity, courage, and determination to maintain hope and a positive spirit were extraordinary. Even during the most difficult moments, he continued to show compassion, humor, and appreciation for the people around him. His perseverance was a testament to the strength of his character and the depth of his love for life.

Calling hours will be held on Saturday, May 30, 3-5PM at Czelusniak Funeral Home, 170 North Street, Northampton, MA. Burial will be at the convenience of the family.
