Edward T. Mann, Jr.

Sunderland, MA – Edward T. Mann, Jr., age 74, passed away in his home just before Memorial Day, 2026. Born on February 27, 1952 in Northampton to Ruth (Driscoll) and Edward Mann Sr., he was “Ned” or “Eddie” to his family and friends, and was known for his charming smile, goofy sense of humor, strong work ethic, and his boundless generosity.

After graduating from the Stockbridge School of Agriculture in 1972 with a degree in Wood Utilization, he fledged a career at Millitech in South Deerfield where he remained for nearly 40 years as a Manufacturing Engineer before his well-deserved, though reluctant retirement. Outside of work, he was a passionate outdoorsman, animal lover, and enjoyed working with his hands on creative projects.

He leaves behind his only child, Casey Mann, her husband Max Guerrieri, and two grandchildren, Eliza and Declan Guerrieri. Though they affectionately referred to their grandfather as “Grumpy Grampy,” he was never grumpy when they were near. His morning visits over coffee and donuts, their playful walks in the woods, and adventures to the top of Mt. Sugarloaf will be treasured always.

His family is grateful to Ed’s friends, extended AA community, and those who helped him in his hardest moments. We have endless appreciation for their enduring camaraderie and support.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, June 27th at Mt. Toby Friends Meetinghouse in Leverett, from 11am-2pm.

Donations may be made in his name to: Mass Audubon, 208 South Great Road Lincoln, MA 01773; or through their website at massaudubon.org/donate and follow the special tribute donation form.
