Elizabeth Poudrier (Gorton)

Easthampton , MA – Elizabeth (“Liz”) Poudrier was born in Burlington, Vermont on May 6, 1934, and passed away peacefully on May 25, 2026, at Cooley Dickinson Hospital, surrounded by her loving family, following injuries sustained from a recent fall.

Liz devoted her life to caring for others and found her greatest joy in her family. She loved spending time with her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren, who were her greatest treasures. Born in Vermont, she carried a lifelong love for its mountains and natural beauty.

She had many cherished friends throughout her life and especially during her 20 years at Treehouse in Easthampton, a community she truly loved. One of her dearest friends was Nancy Kirkmeyer, with whom she shared her faith and friendship for many years. Nancy remained faithfully by Liz’s side through the very end, a gift for which the family will always be grateful. She also treasured her friendship with Lorna, who brought much laughter and joy to her life.

Liz adored animals and loved all of her grand fur babies. Her family finds comfort in believing that her beloved Chihuahua, Lulu, was waiting faithfully for her.

Liz was predeceased by her parents, Bernice (Thersher) King and DeForest Gorton; her brothers, Everette and Ronald; and her sister, Marion. She was the last surviving sibling of her family.

She leaves behind her children: Nancy Walzer; Lisa Cartagena; Jeffrey McClellan and wife Christy; Melody Spear and husband David; Erika Duggan and husband Richard; and Diana Tetreault and husband Mike.

She also leaves behind her cherished grandchildren: Brandi Walzer, Jamie Walzer, Tiffany Boutiette and husband Jose, Scott Boutiette and wife Crissy, Sam McClellan, Alex McClellan, Elise McClellan, Linde Spear, Junie Spear, Sarah Cayo, Leanna Pezzini and husband Ryan, and Kayla Ann Mendrek and fiancé Brian Thayer.

Her legacy continues through her beloved great-grandchildren: Anthony Boutiette and wife Emma, Mercedes, Nevaeh, Sayge, William, Aidan Cayo, Benjamin Pezzini, Siana, Bella, Arya, Maximillian, and Brian Jr. She also leaves behind many beloved nieces and nephews, dear friends, and all who loved her.

The family extends heartfelt gratitude to the doctors and nurses at Cooley Dickinson Hospital for their compassion, dignity, and exceptional care.

Services will be private.

In lieu of flowers, Liz would have wanted those she loved to hold one another close, say “I love you,” and remember that love is more important than disagreements or time lost.

She was deeply loved and will be forever missed.
