At 73 and a black belt, you wonder what to do with yourself. No school wants you. So in the last year I sat down and really looked at what I had learned. It dawned on me, most martial arts did not have something simple for older seniors, who were overweight, had diabetes, and no idea how to go on. That was when the grand idea came out of the blue. What about creating a style just for us. Take what we learned and just have things like linear hand speed and agile footwork. Reinvent the style and then teach it so it spreads. For example, no high kicks, only walking stances, only low kicks and reinvent katas. That’s it. No politics, no mainstream schools just good self defense.
