Next up on the Daily Hampshire Gazette’s All-Stars schedule is boys and girls lacrosse.

With multiple local programs making runs at the Western Mass and state tournaments, both boys and girls represented the area well throughout the spring.

Honorable mentions were named as well for athletes who did not quite fulfill All-Stars status.

Lacrosse All-Stars

Boys

Sawyer Ferro | Amherst

Ferro was the leading force in a productive offensive unit for the Hurricanes on their run to the Round of 32 in the state tournament, leading his squad in goals scored. The junior was a lethal weapon with the ball on his stick, also racking up plenty of assists along the way.

Tri Nguyen | Amherst

Forming a dynamic duo with Ferro, Nguyen used his quickness and precise passing to lead the Hurricanes in assists in his senior season. Nguyen was constantly around the ball through the midfield and in the attacking end, leading the young group by example.

Nathan Desbien | Amherst

One of the young beneficiaries was Desbien, who broke out in his sophomore campaign. Desbien developed an impressive shot, finishing right near the top of the Hurricanes roster in goals scored in 2026.

Jason Kim | Amherst

Kim proved once again to be one of the best goalies in the Pioneer Valley this season, keeping his team in countless games throughout the year. The senior’s dominance in between the pipes will be a huge hole for the Hurricanes to fill moving forward.

Gavin Harrington | Belchertown

Harrington was constantly around the opposing team’s net as one of the Orioles’ most consistent attackmen. A junior, Harrington should be one to watch in the Pioneer Valley next spring.

Benjamin Smolinski | Belchertown

The Orioles were led by a pair of juniors in 2026 as Smolinski also put together a noteworthy campaign as an upperclassman, along with Harrington. Belchertown nearly got their season back on track after dropping six of its first seven and Smolinski had a say in its turnaround as the team concluded 8-10.

Parker Christy | Northampton

Despite a tough season for the Blue Devils, Christy was a bright spot on their back line. Christy was an All-Valley League selection as a senior and was a multi-year contributor for the varsity squad.

Luis Salgado | Northampton

Salgado raised his game to a new level as a junior this past season and the Blue Devils needed it after losing 10 seniors from the 2025 roster. Look for Salgado to guide the next wave of talent in Northampton as a senior next spring.

Tyler Quist | South Hadley

Quist was one of the better attackers in the Pioneer Valley this season, comfortably leading the Tigers in both goals and assists. The sophomore reached 100 career points early on in the year, continuing his success and paving the way for his squad to reach the Round of 32 in the state tournament.

Hunter Skibel | South Hadley

Skibel also played a big role in the Tigers offensive success this season, helping form a trio of weapons on the attacking end that could all score at any time. Skibel did well to find open teammates as well throughout the year, tallying his fair share of assists.

Mason Peters | South Hadley

Rounding out the trio was Peters, who was a consistent engineer of goals in most of the Tigers games this season. Win or loss, Peters was always putting up numbers, hanging around the net and looking for opportunities.

Brayden Blais | South Hadley

Blais built off his impressive freshman year in 2025 with an impressive sophomore stint in goal for the Tigers. Blais consistently put together double-digit save performances all year long, helping give his attackers a chance no matter the opponent.

Honorable mentions: Taylor Leiva (Amherst), Brian Sibrian Cruz (Amherst), Adam O’Rourke (Belchertown), Brady McGinn-Stevens (Northampton), Nolan Brown (South Hadley), Tyler Quist (South Hadley).

Girls

Kiko Bhowmik | Amherst

Bhowmik yet again proved to be one of the most dynamic attackers in the area in 2026, continuing her successful career into her senior year. Bhowmik was an offensive machine all season long, leading her squad to a Western Mass Championship and a Round of 32 run in the state tournament.

Ava Carey | Amherst

Carey was right there alongside Bhowmik, continuing to grow as not only an individual player, but forming one of the better attacking pairings in Western Mass. The seniors each constantly kept defenses on their toes, with Carey exploding for some huge performances throughout the year.

Eden Polak | Amherst

With two dominant offensive forces in front of her, Polak helped round out the Hurricanes by having a great year at goalie. The senior was yet another standout from an impressive senior class, making huge saves all year to keep her team in games.

Lia Pikul | Belchertown

The Orioles had a huge bounce-back year in 2026, in large part due to multiple breakouts in their junior class. Pikul was up there with the most impactful of the bunch, leading her squad with 63 goals and 20 assists throughout runs to the Western Mass finals and Preliminary round of the state tournament.

Aubrey McCain | Belchertown

None of the breakouts were more impressive than McCain’s, who jumped up from 17 goals and two assists in 2025, to 59 goals and 21 assists in her junior season. McCain played a huge role in setting up offense for the Orioles all year long, and will be integral piece moving forward.

Lily Tellier | Belchertown

Tellier rounds out the trio of massive junior breakouts, putting together countless big performances over the course of the season. Tellier also made a huge leap this year, going from 17 goals to 49, while adding 10 assists along the way.

Brenna Moreno | Granby

After an impressive junior season, Moreno continued to be a consistent generator of offense for the Rams in her senior year. Moreno led her team in goals this season with 43, also picking up seven assists in the process.

Mylin Laliberte | Granby

Laliberte’s fourth stint with the Rams was another great one, finishing right behind the team lead with 41 goals on the year. The senior was huge throughout the middle of the season, helping her squad pick up countless close victories.

Rylie Simmons | Hampshire

Despite not having the season they may have hoped for, the Raiders can be happy that Simmons didn’t miss a beat in her junior campaign. Leading the team in goals, Simmons should be a bright spot for the program heading into next spring.

Imanni Power-Greene | Northampton

The Blue Devils’ run to the Round of 32 in the state tournament was only made possible by huge showings all year long from their two main pieces. Power-Greene’s fifth season with the varsity program was another great one, leading the squad in goals with 70, along with a team-high 31 assists.

Makayla Fydenkevez | Northampton

Fydenkevez was the other piece to the puzzle for the Blue Devils in 2026, forming a dominant pairing with Power-Greene on the attacking end. Fydenkevez tallied 62 goals in her junior season, picking up 26 assists as well.

Erin Miller | Smith Voc

Miller was easily the standout for the Vikings in their first full season as a varsity program, comfortably leading the team with 53 goals through just 11 games played. The junior also led the way in assists, picking up a team-high eight on the way to a state tournament berth.

Kaylin Dumas | Smith Voc

Alongside Miller, Dumas proved to be a solid second option offensively ever since tallying a hat trick in the first game of the season. Dumas totaled 22 goals on the year for the Vikings, adding four assists.

Kelcey Zraunig | South Hadley

Despite boasting a committee of offensive producers throughout the year, the Tigers were led by Zraunig’s impressive sophomore season breakout in 2026. Zraunig led the way with 34 goals this year, also tallying a team-high 10 assists.

Dee Haber | South Hadley

On the backend, Haber also put together a great year for the Tigers as an underclassman. The sophomore goalie easily eclipsed 100 saves on the year, playing a huge role in her team’s ability to have success on a nightly basis.
