The Amherst Community Band will present a free outdoor concert June 27 at 6:30 p.m. in Amherst’s Sweetser Park. If it rains it will be held at St Brigid’s Church 122 N. Pleasant St.
This concert will feature American music to help celebrate and appreciate our country’s 250th anniversary. The event will be sponsored by the Amherst Historical Society and BID, working together to bring the community an enjoyable evening of familiar as well as new American music. With a membership of over 125 members, from all over western Massachusetts, comprised of all ages and skill levels, the band will perform its first concert of the summer. The guest conductors will be Dave Morris and Lexi Black.
Invite your friends and neighbors to enjoy a concert. Bring a lawn chair or a blanket and enjoy watching the sunset while listening to the music that helped build our country. Special thanks go to UMass, the Mass Cultural Council, and the Amherst Cultural Council.
