The Northampton Post 28 Legion baseball team got its revenge against Longmeadow Post 175 in its 7-5 win at Russell Field on Wednesday.

Post 28 erased a 5-3 deficit by scoring four runs in the fifth to pick up its sixth win of the season, just two days after a 13-3 drubbing from Post 175.

Andrew Gagne grabbed the win for Northampton, pitching 4 2/3 innings and posting seven strikeouts while allowing no hits or batters to reach base.

Matt Vassallo and Charlie Agostino each smacked two hits for Post 28.

Amherst 12, Brattleboro Maroon 9 — The Hurricanes stormed back from a 7-2 hole to beat their opponents from The Green Mountain State at Amherst Middle School on Wednesday.

Jonah Sommers (5 2/3 innings of relief pitching) and Oliver Howard (3-for-4, four RBIs) starred for Amherst.

Amherst 10, Brattleboro Gold 0 — Cyrus Arwade tossed five shutout innings for the Hurricanes in their road win on Monday.

Arwade struck out six batters and allowed two hits, plus put together a perfect 3-for-3 performance at the plate.

Defensively, the highlight of the game for Amherst featured a 4-6-3 double play during the fifth inning that was spun by Ryan Redmond, Jack Bajnoci and Carl Larsen.
