Cheryl Adamson reminisces about her mother putting a fan in a bucket of ice during hot days while she tried to cool off on Wednesday at a mist machine set up at Pulaski Park in Northampton by the Department of Community Care. The DCC set up the cooling station, and its staffers were also handing out bottled water. Temperatures spiked on Wednesday and the heat is expected to be at dangerous levels through Saturday.
