Ann Marie (Powers) Ouimette

Northampton, MA – We are deeply saddened to announce the passing of Ann Marie (Powers) Ouimette, who died peacefully on June 30, 2026, at the age of 90.

Born on October 12, 1935, to Robert Powers and Alma (Poudrier) Powers Langlais in Northampton, Massachusetts. Ann lived a long and fulfilling life marked by love, dedication, and a deep commitment to those around her. Ann and her husband Donald spent most of their married life in Ashfield, Massachusetts, where they lovingly raised their six children.

Ann was known for her kindness, warmth, and unwavering devotion to her family and community. She was actively involved in her children’s early years, serving as a Girl Scout assistant leader and a Cub Scout den mother. She was also an avid seamstress, making many outfits for her children when they were young. Other interests that brought her joy included reading, country music, and dancing.

She worked for many years as the bookkeeper for the family business, D.F. Ouimette Building Contractors. Ann also found great joy in traveling with her beloved husband, Donald. Together, they cruised the Caribbean, took many RV trips, and enjoyed family vacations.

Ann treasured her friendships and the many places she called home over the years, including Lake Wyola, Whately, Deerfield Beach, Boca Raton, and more recently, Suffield by the River. There, she formed special bonds and was an avid lover of games-most notably Rummikub-which she played frequently with friends, creating lasting memories filled with laughter and connection. She was also a proud member of the Suffield by the River choir.

Her greatest pride and joy was her family. She is survived by her son Donald Ouimette Jr. and partner Henrietta Kocot of South Deerfield, MA; her daughter Darlene (Ouimette) Giroux of Granby, MA; her daughter Dale Ouimette and husband Chris Cobb of Putney, VT; her daughter Denise (Ouimette) Stratton and husband Rich of Hardeeville, SC; and her son David Ouimette and partner Leah Phillips of Newcomb, TN.

She is also survived by her grandchildren: Rebecca Bourgeois of Creedmoor, NC; Ryan Stratton and wife Jina Kim of Greenfield, MA; Brittney (Ouimette) Garcia and husband Roy of Madisonville, KY; Ashley (Ouimette) Walden and husband Jacob Walden of Jellico, TN; Meagan (Borofsky) Faulkner and husband Tyler of Swampscott, MA; David Jacob Ouimette and wife McKinsey Breeding of Sunderland, MA; and Robert Stratton of Danbury, CT. She also leaves six great-grandchildren and many cherished friends.

She will be remembered for her loving spirit, her strong sense of family, and the joy she brought to everyday moments.

Ann’s wish for those who remember her is simple yet meaningful: to do a kind deed, show love, offer a smile, or give words of encouragement to someone in need. In doing so, her spirit will live on in the hearts of all.
