To see Seth Moulton ads and supporters’ comments, you might think that the only issue here is youth vs age. That’s because Moulton doesn’t want to talk about policy.

Senator Ed Markey is a long-time progressive. Moulton, now selling himself as an overnight progressive, was called a “moderate Democrat” by the news media, which in my experience should be pronounced “corporate Democrat.” Moulton has private equity investments in small defense industry companies that have increased enormously in value — through government contracts; he is on the Armed Services Committee. Virtue signaling: he has said that legislators shouldn’t trade stocks, a stand that would not affect his sweetheart deals one bit.

After Zohran Mamdani was elected, Moulton voted with Republicans to condemn socialism, participating in their McCarthyism game. (Democratic socialists, unlike Republicans and corporate Democrats, believe that people should have more rights than corporations. Joe McCarthy was a rabid antisemite and Nazi sympathizer who used anticommunism as a cover.)

I don’t even want Moulton in the House, let alone in the Senate. Republicans don’t need any more votes.
