Casey (Kathryn) Wenz

Cambridge, MA – Casey (Kathryn) Wenz of Cambridge was born on October 5, 1966 in Port Jefferson, NY. She is survived by her parents Don and Ginny Wenz, sister Susan Austin (Dave), brothers Chris, Matt and Tim, nieces Mariah and Khylyn, nephew Daniel and many aunts, uncles and cousins. When she was 5, the family moved to Longmeadow where she attended Longmeadow schools. Casey graduated from UMass Amherst with an engineering degree, was a fierce advocate for LGBTQ rights and social justice and against the outrages of the present administration, was a skilled carpenter, and led a successful career in marketing medical technology innovations. Casey was a brilliant thinker with a wonderful sense of humor and always told fabulous stories. She raised many beautiful labrador retrievers, including Gomer, Ernie, Chloe, Julie, Gertie, and Audre Lorde Wenz. She will be missed by Audre and Alice, whom she reliably led on night walks. She is survived by Audre and cat Skeeter, dear friends Ruth, Margaret and Meghan along with many other friends and family who miss her terribly. Donations to honor Casey may be made to the Massachusetts Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals, (https://www.mspca.org) the Material Aid and Advocacy Program, (https://secure.givelively.org/donate/material-aid-and-advocacy-program-inc), ACT-UP (https://give.actupny.com/donate/) and Dana Farber Cancer Center (https://www.dana-farber.org). A mass to celebrate her life will be held on October 5, 2026 at 11 am, St. Mary's Church, Somers Road, Hampden, MA 01036.
