Easthampton, MA – William Robert Laliberte passed away suddenly on Wednesday, August 26, 2026. Born May 28, 1940 he was the son of Joseph O. Laliberte and Ruth C. Erskine Laliberte of Easthampton.
He spent thirty-four years with Stanley Home Products as a forklift operator, finishing his working years as a custodian at Amherst College.
Some of the happiest times for Bill were spending many hours restoring his 1963 Corvette and photography. He loved nothing more than walking his dog and taking pictures of nature. Over the years he began his adventures in woodworking. Some of the birdhouses he built were of the truly beautiful: Easthampton Congregational Church, the Courthouse and the Academy of Music in Northampton to name a few. He was always happy with new building projects for people.
Bill was the most honest, and loving man any family could have. We cherish every moment we had together and will always remember him as someone who was always there for you when you most needed him.
He leaves behind his wife of 65 years, Carole, and his daughter, Laura Wallace (Jeff); his sister Ruth Alice; his brother, James (Jim) and his partner Nancy Pulley; granddaughters Rebecca LaMothe and Emilie Wallace (James Bergeron); Great-granddaughter, Evelyn LaMothe, sister-in-law, Delores Guerin of Agawam, brother-in-law Richard Dion (Brenda) of Maryville, TN along with many nieces and nephews.
Brother-in-Law, George R. Dion, passed on Tuesday, August 25, 2026.
Calling hours will be held from 5-7PM on Friday September 4, 2026 for both George Dion and Bill at Boucher O’Brien Funeral Home, 7 Pleasant St in Easthampton.
