GRANBY — A 37-year-old man died in a fatal crash Thursday night while traveling on Route 202 in Granby.
A statement from the Northwester District Attorney’s Office reports a tractor-trailer was travelling west on the state highway when an eastbound motorcycle veered into the opposing lane. The resulting crash occurred around 201 West State St.
The motorcyclist, who has yet to be identified, was pronounced dead at the scene. The Office of the Chief Medical Examiner will determine the cause and manner of death.
The tractor-trailer driver remained at the scene and cooperated with police, and no charges have been filed, the DA’s office said.
The crash remains under investigation by the Massachusetts State Police Detective Unit assigned to the Northwestern District Attorney’s Office, the Massachusetts State Police Collision Analysis and Reconstruction Section, the Massachusetts State Police Crime Scene Services Section, the Massachusetts State Police Commercial Vehicle Enforcement Section, and the Granby Police Department.
