Northampton, MA – Katherine (Baumann) Madden, 77, passed away on September 11, 2026 at Linda Manor in Northampton. Born to William and Rita (Flynn) Baumann on November 14, 1948 in Holyoke Massachusetts.
Katherine obtained her Master’s degree and worked as a teacher for many years in the Springfield Public School system, educating and molding young minds. Her favorite occupation was being a loving mother to her only son, David. She worked tirelessly to expand her own education to ensure a better life for her family. After her many educational accomplishments she was able to enjoy retirement. She enjoyed her summers at Goose Rocks beach in Kennebunkport ME where she would love to take long walks along the beach. She loved to excise and in later life enjoyed learning how to paint.
Katherine is predeceased by her parents, her brother William Baumann Jr. and sister Monica O’Donnell.
She is survived by her son David Dart, her brother Peter Baumann and her sister Alice Hogan.
