The Northampton girls soccer team improved to 5-0-1 on the season in its 1-0 win over Longmeadow at home on Friday.
Willow Claps netted the game-winning goal with less than two minutes left on the clock as the Blue Devils squeaked past the Lancers.
Northampton goalie Anna Oravec obtained her fourth shutout of the season, snatching six saves against Longmeadow.
The Blue Devils went 0-1-1 against the Lancers last season.
Holyoke 4, Palmer 2 — Kyra Lippman was dynamite for the Purple Knights, picking up four points in the win.
Lippman had a hat trick and assisted on a second-half tuck from Leilany Figueroa as Holyoke won game No. 2 on the season.
Boys soccer
Belchertown 2, South Hadley 1 — The Orioles snapped their six-game losing streak in their victory against the Tigers.
Jacob Gladu and Ryan Lacroix found the back of the net to lift Belchertown. Andrew Lambert earned the win between the pipes for the victors, notching five saves.
South Hadley’s winless streak extended to three in the defeat. Peter Barone tallied the Tiger’s only goal while Xzavies Rosario registered eight saves.
Hampshire 1, Easthampton 0 — The Raiders remained undefeated after their shutout against the Eagles.
Riley Florek pocketed the deciding goal as Hampshire moved to 4-0-2.
Monson 3, Granby 1 — The Rams couldn’t keep pace with the Mustangs in the second half of Friday’s defeat.
Trailing 1-0 at halftime, Granby allowed two more in the second frame to drop its third contest in four games.
Conor Callery scored the Rams’ lone goal.
Girls volleyball
Amherst 3, Chicopee 0 — The Hurricanes followed up their first loss of the season earlier this week with a convincing sweep against the Pacers on Friday.
Amherst claimed its sixth win of the season with set scores of 25-16, 25-13 and 25-23.
Smith Voc 3, Mohawk 0 — After edging the Warriors in the first set, the Vikings eased to victory on Friday.
Set scores finished at 26-24, 25-15, 25-19 in favor of Smith Voc.
Leah Franklin (four kills, ace, six assists, 11 digs) and Irelyn Marcoux (six kills, two aces, 12 digs) were two of a plethora of Vikings players who stuffed the stat sheet.
Field hockey
Hampshire 1, Mahar 0 — Neely Rondeau was the difference-maker for the Raiders against the Senators, registering the game’s single strike.
Goalies Sarah Zajac (two saves) and Grace Layman saw time on the field in the home victory.
Golf
Hampshire 160, Pioneer 195 — All four Raiders’ scorers broke 45 in their victory at Northfield Golf Course.
Brayden Fennessy (37), Wes Adamski (39), Collin Westcott (41) and Cole Boissonneault (43) powered Hampshire past the Panthers.
