Philadelphia, PA – Thomas Longden Emery, or “Tom” as he was fondly known, passed on September 22, 2026 after a brief illness. Born on July 13, 1951, in Syracuse, NY, to the late Hugh and Jean Emery, Tom was a shining example of the adjectives that best described him: funny, generous, and loyal.
Tom’s professional journey led him to the world of manufacturing, at Kellogg Brush, Rexam and Yankee Candle. His generosity was mirrored in his work, always striving to create products that brought joy to others. Outside his professional life, Tom was an avid sports fan. His passion for golf was unparalleled, spending many happy hours at the Northampton Country Club in Massachusetts. He also loved watching baseball, and his loyalty was always with his favorite teams. His love for college basketball games, a testament to his love of sports.
Tom’s life was rich with relationships. His sister, Sharon Emery, and various cousins survive him, their bond a testament to Tom’s loyalty and love for family. Throughout his life, Tom shared his humor, generosity, and loyalty with everyone around him.
Relatives and friends may greet Tom’s family on Wednesday, September 30, 2026, from 10:00 am -11:00 am at the Lambie Funeral Home, 8000 Rowland Avenue, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, 19136. His funeral service will follow at 11:00 am. Interment will take place at Beechwood Cemetery. In lieu flowers donations may be made in Tom’s memory to Maine Central Institute or University of Massachusetts at Lowell towards the United in Blue Fund for Athletics would be greatly appreciated.
