Now hear this: Those who are saying we must get out of Iran because of high gas and diesel prices must not forget that our precious military has been in harm’s way for eight long months, sustaining many deaths, casualties and high stress levels upon our volunteer men, women, and their patriotic families because of this misguided war of one man’s choice.
This is why we have to get out now. We the people were never informed about Donald Trump’s plan to attack Iran, neither in ’25 or ’26. No consent was given for this war by our Congress. Translation: The war in Iran is Illegal, along with the rest of Trump’s many crimes against our precious Constitution.
Our military is being abused. They are only 1% of our nation’s citizens carrying this debacle on their backs and being killed and wounded for it. Just like in Vietnam, Afghanistan and Iraq, our presidents refuse to turn back when it becomes clear that their war was a grave mistake.
Give our military the respect it certainly deserves before putting them in harm’s way so they are not abused in the first place. With that strategy, the 99% of us, who do not have to serve because of their sacrifices, who are rightfully complaining of the stress we are in, will not be abused either.
As a veteran, I am angry that Trump has put our nation in this perilous place but as of today, I am furious he has suggested that 100,000 of our finest in San Diego are fodder for his political campaign to save himself from the harsh judgment he deserves. We the people must teach our leadership that we will no longer accept illegal wars and the shabby disrespect they put on those few who give their lives for us all.
