Barbara K. Pomeroy

North Hatfield, MA – Barbara K. Pomeroy, 81, left her earthly home and entered the arms of her Lord and Savior peacefully on July 1, 2026, surrounded by loved ones at the Bailey Hospice Center in St. Augustine, Florida. Barb was preceded in death by her parents Charles S. and Asenath R. Kittridge, as well her siblings Charles “Kit” Kittridge, Betty Jane Kittridge, and her grandson, Seth Pomeroy.

Barb was born on October 16, 1944, in Dallas, TX, and grew up in Western Massachusetts where she met and married Russell I. Pomeroy in June of 1963. She and Russ shared a life built on commitment, partnership, and love, sharing their time between Massachusetts and Florida until his passing in 2018.

After high school in Longmeadow, MA, she spent her life in N. Hatfield, MA committed to being a wife, mother, and homemaker, working alongside her husband building their family-owned business, Pomeroy Lumber Company. In later years she enjoyed working at Yankee Candle Company and pursuing studies at Liberty University.

Barb was a devoted mother and is survived by her son, R. Scott Pomeroy, daughter Bobbie Lee Terezakis, and her husband, Terry Terezakis, and her grandchildren Timothy Terezakis, Michael Terezakis, Elisabeth Start (Christopher), and Margaret Huff (Dylan). Her family was a source of great delight, and she poured into them warmth, wisdom, and a steady presence that will bless them for years to come. She also leaves behind extended family members and many dear friends who will miss her fun-loving and humorous nature.

Her faith was central to who she was, and she had been a long-time member of North Leverett Baptist Church. Barb lived her final years at Bryn Mawr Ocean Resort in St. Augustine, where she joyfully served as the “Sausage Queen” for the Saturday Pancake Breakfasts. She also led the Ladies Bible Study at the park for approximately 30 years. Through serving and teaching, Barb became a source of strength, comfort, and inspiration.

Barb also knew how to enjoy life and share joy with others. She loved to travel, enjoyed watching baseball and going to games with her family, as well as her “mental health days,” playing cards or other games with her friends in MA and at Bryn Mawr. Her playful and feisty spirit brought laughter and connection to those around her and reminded us to find joy in every season of life.

Barb passed after a lengthy battle with lung cancer, leaving a deep emptiness for those who loved her, and they will remember her as a woman of wisdom and faith. Her greatest desire was for everyone to trust Christ as their Savior and to have the blessed assurance of eternal life with Him.

Per her wishes, there will be no formal services, but instead, a celebration of life event will take place at later date when her “snowbird friends” return to Bryn Mawr.
