SOUTH HADLEY — South Hadley’s Grace Matyszewski could not have asked for a better senior night.

Up 18-7 again Greenfield in the third set, she recorded two aces during a 7-0 run to end the match and allowed her to celebrate the final points with her fellow seniors.

A year after having no seniors on the team, South Hadley gave the group another memory with a dominate 3-0 win over the Green Wave.

“We’ve been together since freshman year, all the way to senior year,” Matyszewski said. “We really built a family together and it’s impacted us all of us on and off the court.”

In addition to a group she has played with for years, Matyszewski shared the court with her built-in best friend, her younger sister Tierney.

“It means the world to me to have my family on the court with me and share the same name in the lineup together,” Grace Matyszweski said.

The two began playing when their father introduced them to the sport when Grace was in seventh grade and Tierney in fifth. What started out as basic passes to each other at home turned into a duo that is first and second on the team in kills with plenty of memories.
