State Reps. Kelly Pease, R-Westfield, and Patricia Duffy, D-Holyoke, cruised to reelection Tuesday.
Pease, a Republican who has represented the 4th Hampden District since 2021, defeated Democrat Colby Hoffman, 62% to 38%, according to unofficial results from The Associated Press. The district includes Westfield and Southampton. Hoffman, of Westfield, has said he ran because he did not want the incumbent to go unchallenged.
Pease said he was “honored” to be reelected, and glad that his constituents affirmed the work he is doing. He said his work centers on fighting for local aid to lower property taxes.

“It’s a real privilege,” he told the Gazette.
Duffy, who has represented the 5th Hampden District since 2021, won 79% of the vote against independent Candelario Gonzalez, who received 21%, according to the AP. The district covers Holyoke and part of Chicopee.
In an overnight Facebook post, Duffy thanked voters and her challenger.
“I will continue meeting residents where they are, listening to voices that too often go unheard, and pursuing practical solutions rooted in our shared values,” she wrote. “It is an honor to represent this district, and I will keep working every day to earn your trust and build a stronger future for our communities together.”
