The UMass softball team swept a doubleheader against Boston University at Sortino Field Thursday.

The Minutewomen beat the Terriers 6-4 and 3-1.

In game one, UMass (10-14) broke a 3-3 tie in the sixth inning with a trio of runs.

First baseman Melissa Garcia went 2-for-3 with two RBIs.

Candace Denis picked up the win, allowing two earned runs on five hits and a walk over six innings, while striking out three.

The Minutewomen took game two after a three-run sixth inning that included three singles and an error.

Kaitlyn Stavinoha went 3-for-3 with three singles, a run and one RBI.

Meg Colleran pitched a complete game, allowing one run and five hits.
