SOUTH DEERFIELD — A two-car crash sent one person to the hospital with serious but non-life-threatening injuries Wednesday afternoon at the intersection of Greenfield and Conway roads, police said.
A blue Toyota SUV, not yielding to the blinking yellow turn light, turned left in front of a beige Toyota Prius, leading to the crash, according to police.
The female driver of the Prius was seriously injured, police said. She was taken to to the trauma center at Baystate Springfield. The two people in the SUV, along with a dog aboard, were not injured,
“Accidents do happen, but remember to take an extra look and drive safely out there,” Deerfield Police officer Adam Sokoloski said.
Sokoloski stressed the importance of seat belts.
“If she was not buckled up, the result could have been much worse,” he said.
