NORTHAMPTON — A co-owner of One Bar and Grill announced on social media Wednesday that the bar and music venue — which has sat dark and empty for the past week — is officially closed.
The bar has been at 1 Pearl St. since August 2014.
Matt Gibbs, a former bar manager who retains 50 percent ownership, confirmed the closing in a Facebook post. Gibbs left the bar Dec. 1 amid efforts by co-owner Lauren Pomponio and business partner Tim Barnes to buy him out earlier in the year.
“I am very proud of the business we built, and anyone who performed, hung out or watched a performance in our venue, I am truly appreciative of your support,” Gibbs said in the post. “Sometimes in life you take a shot and invest everything you have in something or someone, and it fails.”
Pomponio told the Gazette last week that “changes” are in the works, but declined to comment further. She could not be reached for comment on Wednesday.
Anthony Gleason of Gleason Brothers, Inc., who owns the property, also could not be reached.
