EASTHAMPTON — Spring cleaning approaches Easthampton again with more than 100 homes participating in the fourth annual citywide tag sale on the weekend of May 19 and 20.
Joan LaRose, an organizer for the event, said that the majority of tag sales will happen on Sunday, May 20, but some homes will have their sales on Saturday or on both days.
Anyone interested in hosting a tag sale at their home as part of the event needs to pick up a $5 tag sale permit at City Hall on or before May 17, LaRose said. City Hall is closed on Friday, May 18.
An interactive map showing the locations of each of the tag sales this year is available on the Easthampton City Wide Tag Sale Facebook event page, which organizers said will continue to be updated the week before the event. Pins on the map show detailed information such as the address of the tag sale, days open and items offered.
Event organizers said that anyone who would like to be added to the interactive map needs to register on the Easthampton City Wide Tag Sale Facebook event page by Sunday May 13.
LaRose said that in all three previous years, the event drew over 100 tag sales each year.
By May 4, LaRose said 78 homes had signed up for this year’s event and by May 11, the event had surpassed 100 tag sale registrations.
“Those of you that are going to all of these tag sales, hope you find the treasures you are looking for,” event organizers wrote on the event Facebook page. “And those of us that are having the tag sale, ‘Good luck’ with your sales.”
