In its Nov. 26 edition, the Gazette ran a photo of a store at 27 Pleasant St. undergoing a change.

For nearly the first half of the 1900s, it was The Fair Store, which sold family clothing and shoes. Its manager from 1929 to about 1955 was my father, Ray Vigneault Sr. The proprietor was Herman Cohen.

Talk about nostalgia. It brought back many warm and pleasant memories for me! There was a pool hall up the staircase on the right side of the photo. I hope the Wurst House is as successful!
