■The office of the Hampshire Gazette is removed to the chamber on Pleasant Street, formerly occupied by Mr. Wm. Butler.
■Elisha Babcock offers for sale his homestead, situated in the town of Westhampton, about one mile south of the meeting house, on the south road leading from Northampton to Albany, comprising about two and a quarter acres of ground, part of which is an excellent garden, and the whole in a state of high cultivation, containing a dwelling house, shop, and other convenient out-buildings.
■Mount Holyoke and Smith College alumnae of Northampton are planning to combine in giving an entertainment in a few weeks, the proceeds of which will be divided between the two colleges, going for the benefit of their respective endowment funds.
■The second pool tournament of the Masonic Club is drawing to a close, with William Richason’s team leading by 186 points. Only seven games are yet to be played, and Edwin Leavitt’s side is said to have given up all hope of escaping the payment of the forfeit, a chicken pie supper.
■On April 4, Ricardo C. Lococo will open a full service studio, Ricardo Photographic Images, at 8 Bridge St. A native of Northampton, Ricardo attended the local schools, taking up photography as a hobby while he was a broadcast engineer and cameraman at Channel 22 in Springfield.
■After a snowy Christmas scene yesterday morning, the tropical-style rains came, creating deep potholes in local roads, shorting out automobile ignitions, flooding cellars, making duck ponds of backyards and sending many hillside lawns into the streets.
