As a supporter of youth sports, I hope to never again see a photo like the one the Gazette chose to publish of an Easthampton High School basketball player in his immediate postgame misery after their 3-point loss in the Western Mass finals Saturday.
This was a heroic season by a local team, and it is not the first time the Gazette has chosen to encapsulate a courageous and determined sports season with such a photo.
