Andrew Yamin accumulated three and a half of Amherst’s six sacks, as the Amherst College football team shut out Middlebury 21-0 in Vermont on Saturday.

Chase Trunnell ran for two touchdowns and 33 yards, while Biafra Okoronkwo added 86 yards for the Mammoths (4-0, 4-0 NESCAC).

Quarterback Ollie Eberth went 12-for-30 for 144 yards passing and ran for 47 yards and a score.

Andrew Sommer nabbed an interception, while Brett Bates recovered a fumble cause by Greg Franklin.

James O’Regan led Amherst with 64 yards receiving.

Men’s soccer

UMass 2, George Mason 1 — DeAndrae Brown scored two first-half goals in a home win Saturday.

Yosuke Hanya assisted his first in the third minute, and he converted a penalty in the 35th minute.

Marvyn Dorchin made two saves for the Minutemen (5-5-2, 1-2 A-10).

Amherst College 1, Hamilton 0 — Luke Nguyen found a winner in the 34th minute for the Mammoths on Saturday.

Bryce Johnson assisted, and Bernie White made six saves for Amherst (6-3, 3-3 NESCAC).

Women’s soccer

Amherst College 2, Hamilton 0 — Rubii Tamen had a brace for the Mammoths on Saturday.

She scored both her goals in a 2 minute, 10 second span. Alexa Juarez assisted on the second. Erica Sanders made four saves for Amherst (8-1-1, 4-1-1 NESCAC).

Wheaton 2, Smith 1 — Peyton McBride’s goal from Jessica Matsuoka in the 68th minute wasn’t enough Saturday.

Naomi Falkenberg made seven saves for the Pioneers (6-7, 1-4 NEWMAC).

South Deerfield’s Kathryn Byrnes and Belchertown’s Lauryn Parnet came off the bench for Wheaton in the win.

MIT 10, Mount Holyoke 2 — McKenna Lamb had both goals for the Lyons on Saturday.

Avia Jacobs added an assist for Mount Holyoke (3-7, 1-4 NEWMAC).

Amana Manaster made 11 saves, and Martha Rothenberg added one.

George Mason 1, UMass 0 — Peyton Ryan made three saves in a home loss for the Minutewomen (9-3-1, 4-1-1 A-10) on Sunday.

Field Hockey

Hamilton 4, Amherst College 3 — Kendall Codey had two goals, and Laura Schwartzmann added two assists in a loss Saturday.

Heather Brennan also scored, and Natalie Hobbs added an assist for Amherst (6-4, 2-4 NESCAC).

Katie Savage stopped six shots.

Mount Holyoke 3, Wellesley 2 — Kristina Ramsden scored the winner in the 71st minute with an assist from Colby Newsham.

The Lyons (6-6, 2-3 NEWMAC) scored three unanswered goals to win Saturday.

Newsham opened the scoring int he 49th minute, while Kylie Brooks added a goal from Margaret Robb’s asssit in the 63rd minute.

Morgan Turner made a save.

VCU 2, UMass 0 — Johanna von dem Borne made three saves, as the Minutewomen (6-8, 4-2 A-10) fell Sunday.

Women’s cross country

James Earley Invitational — Smith College finished first in the team standings with 92 points led by Karena Garcia, whoe was fifth in 18 minutes, 50.81 seconds.

Simone Jacob took 19th for Mount Holyoke (19:31.76) and the Lyons were third as a team with 131 points.

Women’s volleyball

Bowdoin 3, Amherst College 1 — Emily Kolsky had 12 kills and 13 digs in a 25-9, 22-25, 20-25, 24-26 loss Saturday.

Skyleur Savage led the Mammoths (12-3, 4-2 NESCAC) with 19 digs, and Charlotte Duran added 34 assists and 11 digs.

Women’s golf

NESCAC Championship/George Phinney Classic — The Mammoths finished second with 650 strokes. Williams won with 643.

India Gaume, Isabelle Ouyang and Emily Young all shot 163s to tie for sixth for the Mammoths.

Mount Holoke placed sixth at 698. Susan Lee tied for 24th with a 170.
