Conway’s David Fitch continued a strong showing at the NCAA Division III swimming and diving championships Thursday.

The Kenyon College sophomore followed up an All-America placement Wednesday with a national championship in the men’s 100-yard butterfly. He touched the wall in 46.92 seconds, a Division III record. Amherst College’s Jack Koravos was 16th in the event at 48.99.

Fitch, a Williston Northampton grad, also swam on Kenyon’s fourth-place 400 medley (3:14.97).

Amherst placed eighth with Craig Smith, Sean Mebust, Koravos and Scott Romeyn (3:17.49).

Amherst’s Bridgitt Kwong took seventh in the women’s 400 individual medley (4:25.66).

Natali Rumpelt finished eighth in the women’s 200 free (1:51.23).

Amherst’s Bennett Fagan placed eighth on the one-meter diving board with 470.8 points.

Amhert Regional graduate Luca Brashear took 11th for Springfield College (435.05).

Tom Amsbry was 12th for the Mammoths (435.05).

The Mammoths’ men’s 200 freestyle relay of Romeyn, Koravos, Tristan So and Eric Wong placed 14th (1:22.61).

Kwong, Nina Fitzgerald, Marie Fagan and Rumpelt took 14th in the women’s 400 medley relay (3:48.24).

Division I Women’s Swimming Championships — Northampton graduate and Stanford junior Erin Voss placed 21st in the 500 free (4:40.65). The Cardinal lead the team standings with 173.5 points, just edging rival Cal, who has 173.

UMass’ Maja Boric scored 240.7 points on the one-meter board to finish 41st.
