■The fourth winter storm watch in less than two weeks has been posted for tonight, less than 24 hours after a storm which dropped snow, sleet and freezing rain in the Valley, causing hazardous driving and traffic tie-ups in the busy Christmas shopping season.

■Dr. Stuart H. Sandrew, a Pittsfield native, announced the opening of a dental office at 16 Center St. Practice will be limited to gum work and oral diagnosis of mouth lesions. Dr. Sandrew resides in Pittsfield with his wife and three children.

■The first Annual Western Massachusetts Juried Photography Exhibit continues an ongoing effort by the Northampton Center for the Arts to present the best selection of works to area art lovers. The exhibit features photographic pieces by shutterbugs from all over the region.

■Thanks to the generous spirit of the community, the Sidney F. Smith Toy Fund raised a total of $45,101.60, making it possible for hundreds of children to have a happier holiday. That is the most ever raised by the 62-year-old Toy Fund.

■The so-called “Well-Dressed Robber” appears to have struck again, stealing an unspecified amount of money Wednesday morning from the Florence Savings Bank branch on the corner of King and Finn streets. Investigators described the suspect as having a gray beard and glasses, and wearing a gray fedora, a gray trench coat and blue jeans.

■An American flag that once flew outside the U.S. Capitol will fly on select occasions at the Walter Salvo House on Conz Street. Its arrival Wednesday came on an historic day for the U.S. military, the abolition of its “don’t ask don’t tell policy,” a fact noted in the flag presentation made by U.S. Rep. Richard E. Neal.
