The Smith College women’s basketball team outscored College of New Jersey by 18 points in the second half to win, 72-67, Sunday in Northampton.

Trailing by 13 at halftime, the Pioneers (8-3) outscored the Lions 47-29 in the second half to rally.

Lauren Bondi had 23 points, including 20 in the second half, while Kennedy Guest-Pritchett added 14 points and 18 rebounds, including 10 and 14, respectively, after the break.

Katy McClellan had 12 points, five rebounds and three assists.

UMass 70, Marist 55 — Jessica George scored a career-high 22 points with six 3-pointers as the Minutewomen (8-6) won Saturday in Poughkeepsie, New York.

Destiney Philoxy added 10 points, while Genesis Rivera and Hailey Leidel (10 rebounds, six assists) each had nine.

Amherst 59, Wisconsin Stevens Point 41 — A mid-game 20-1 run allowed the Mammoths (8-1) to pull away, Saturday in Las Vegas.

Madeline Eck had 20 points and Cam Hendricks added 11 points, seven rebounds, three assists, two steals and two blocks.

Buena Vista 82, Westfield State 76 — Chelsea Moussette (Southampton) had nine points and five assists, but the Owls (4-6) fell in Las Vegas on Saturday.

Men’s basketball

Amherst 96, Hunter 41 — The Mammoths went on a 21-0 run over the final five minutes of the first half, and finished with 14 3-pointers in the rout at LeFrak Gymnasium on Sunday.

Amherst (8-1) trailed 17-16 went it went on a 21-0 spurt that extended to a 32-2 run that put Hunter (3-7) away.

Eric Sellew and Tommy Mobley each had 12 points to pace Amherst. Sellew added seven rebounds and three steals.

Fru Che (six rebounds, four assists), Will Phelan (seven assists, four rebounds, three steals) and C.J. Bachmann (seven rebounds) each had 10 points.

Eastern Connecticut 74, Springfield 59 — Jake Ross (Northampton) had 28 points and eight rebounds, but the Pride (3-8) fell at home Sunday in the Naismith Classic.

On Saturday, Ross had 21 points but the Pride fell to No. 22 Salisbury 82-63.

Women’s ice hockey

Amherst 4, William Smith 2 — The Mammoths scored the first two and the last goals as they swept the two-game series, Sunday at Orr Rink.

Emma Flynn (two assists) scored first for the Mammoths, then Kaitlin Hoang (assist) added the final three.

The Mammoths scored four straight to overcome a 2-0 deficit in a 4-3 victory on Saturday.

Rose Mroczka, Eliza Laycock, Flynn (two assists) and Angelina Wiater scored for Amherst.
