The Northampton boys and girls indoor track & field teams each opened the season with a victory over Westfield, Friday during the late session at Smith College.

The Blue Devils beat the Bombers, 73-22, in the girls meet. Hamp won 72-23 on the boys side.

During the late session, Emma Harder placed first overall in both the 55-meter dash (7.62 seconds) and 300 (43.3) for the Blue Devils.

India Smith-Grant finished first in the shot put (29 feet, 9ยฝ inches).

Contributing to the win were Nava Chevan (46.78) and Adele Jordan (47.21), who went 4-5 overall in the 300.

Maggie Reade (1:49.99) and Rosie Ingmann (1:50.02) went 3-4 in the 600. Ingmann was also second in the 2-mile (12:19.93).

Mary Yount was second in the mile (5:22.69) and fourth in the 1,000 (3:29.66).

Cole Lavalle was first in the 55 dash (6.86) and Ethan Cooper led a 1-2-3 finish in the 1,000 for the Northampton boys.

Cooper finished in 2:43.17 and was followed by Eben Savensen (2:48.38) and Ben Howe (2:50.2).

Simon LaClair (4:44.2) won the mile for Northampton, while Jonathan Lischetti was third (5:02.44).

The 4×200 relay (1:40.43) placed first, while Tucker Quinlan (high jump, 5-3) and Tobias Lโ€™esperance (2-mile, 10:25.49) were both third.

Elsewhere in the late session, Hannah Labrie was second (9.58) in the 55 hurdles to lead Hampshire Regional, which beat Hampden Charter, 61-32, but fell to Mahar, 57.5-37.5 in the late session.

Hampshireโ€™s 4×200 relay had the best time of 2:03.62. Three teams were disqualified in the event.

Nick Eline was second over in the mile (4:57.64) to lead Hampshire in a sweep of Hampden (73-6) and Mahar (60-26).
