The West girls soccer team won its third straight gold medal at the Bay State Games.

Trailing by a goal, the team rallied to beat Southeast, 2-1 in overtime, Sunday at Veterans Memorial Sports Complex in Waltham.

The West had seven players from Hampshire County and one from Franklin County: Emma Kuntz (Hampshire Regional), Lauryn Parent (Belchertown), Alexa Blaney (South Hadley), Olivia Blaney (South Hadley), Gabrielle Petlock (Smith Vocational), Samantha Tersavich (Hampshire), Arya Jane Mitchell (Smith Voke) and Kara Felton (Frontier Regional).

Cal Ripken

Marlboro 10, Hadley 0 (4) โ€” Jake Smith, James Fitzgibbons and Eli Kern each singled for Hadley in the mercy-rule loss in the semifinals of the 9-and-under state tournament, Monday in Hadley.

Smith pitched two innings and took the loss.

Uxbridge 5, Northampton 4 โ€” Riley McDonald and Jack Sherman each had a hit for Northampton in the semifinals of the 9-and-under state tournament, Monday in Hadley.

McDonald, Sherman and Mike Thompson each pitched for Northampton.

The Frontier 9U Cal Ripken baseball team finished the state tournament 1-4. The team beat Northbridge, 10-8, on Friday. Frontierโ€™s record was incorrectly reported in Mondayโ€™s Gazette.

James Elliott struck out five in relief for the Northampton 10U Cal Ripken team during its 1-0 loss to Norwalk (Connecticut) in the New England Regionals. Elliottโ€™s last name was misspelled in Monday Gazette.

Northampton plays Andy Valley (Maine) Tuesday at 5:30 p.m. in Uxbridge in the single-elimination portion of the tournament.
