The 1-2 punch of Hailey Raffa and Tyler Hetu led the Hampshire Regional gymnastics team past Agawam, 131-118.2, Thursday in Westhampton.
The Raiders are 3-0 on the short season with a road meet looming next week against powerful Westfield. Hampshire hasn’t beaten the Bombers in over 10 years.
“We’re a little nervous,” Hampshire coach Lisa Anthony said. “Our scores look good so we’ll keep our fingers crossed.”
Raffa, a sophomore, finished first in the all-around with a score of 33.5. Hetu, a freshman, was second at 33.05.
“They’re good friends so they don’t compete against each other,” Anthony said. “They compete within themselves. They work hard. They’re more cheerleaders for each other.”
Hampshire junior Hadleigh Rogalski, who was not eligible for the all-around, placed first in two events for the Raiders.
Rogalski was first on beam (8.35) and vault (8.55). She also tied for third on bars (7.6).
Raffa was first on floor (8.8), second on both bars (8.0) and beam (8.3), and tied for third on vault (8.4).
Hampshire senior Allie Johndrow tied with Hetu on bars (8.2). Hetu was second on vault (8.45) and third on floor (8.6).
