Madison Sexton burst through the Northampton defense, spun to her left and buried a game-winner in overtime as the Granby girls lacrosse team beat the Blue Devils, 5-4, on Monday.

Sexton’s opportunity came after a point-blank save by Liberty Conlin, who stopped seven shots in the game.

Host Granby led 4-2 for most of the first half, but Northampton tied the game with two minutes left to send it to OT.

Sexton clinched a hat trick with her overtime goal and picked up five ground balls. Ella Laliberte added two goals and an assist, while Julia Frappier had an assist for the Rams (2-1) to go along with 10 ground balls and three draw controls.

Shea Crowther scored twice for Northampton (0-3), and Elly MacDonald and Sophie Movini had a goal each.

Gabby Adovno made eight saves.

Pope Francis 23, Saint Mary 6 — Hampshire Regional student Katarzyna Wisnauckas scored five goals in a road loss.

Sam Moran also found the net, while Serena Griswold added an assist. Summer Duda snatched an interception for Saint Mary (0-2, 0-2 Pioneer).

April Warner made 16 saves in defeat.

Boys volleyball

Southwick 3, Belchertown 0 — James Lawless and Nathan Courchesne (four assists) had two kills each in a 25-19, 25-22, 25-22 loss for the Orioles.

Derek Guntor fired three aces.
