HOLYOKE — Two men were shot Sunday at around 2 a.m. on High Street after what police described as a fight outside of City Sports Bar & Lounge.
“Some kind of a fight, some kind of a disturbance, occurred as they were getting out,” Holyoke Police Lt. Jim Albert said. “Words were said, shots were fired, two people were hit.”
Albert said that one of the men was shot in the neck and arm and that he is in “quite serious” condition.
“He was in tough shape,” Albert said.
The other man was shot in one of his arms, Albert added. Police did not identify the shooting victims.
Police have not made any arrests in the case, and no charges have yet been filed, according to Albert. Police have towed a car and have a search warrant pending, Albert said, adding that the department will be reviewing surveillance video, canvassing the neighborhood and speaking to witnesses.
“We don’t have any suspects at this time,” Albert said. “We’re requesting the public’s assistance.”
