NORTHAMPTON — A 43-year-old Springfield resident survived an attack from behind by two men who struck the man in the head and stabbed him multiple times in both arms and one leg Monday morning, Northampton Police said in a Facebook post.
The incident took place at 11:32 a.m. near 136 West St. where police responded to a call for a stabbing.
The victim, who received medical treatment for his injuries following the assault, stated he was walking along the bike trail between the Roundhouse Parking Lot and Veteran’s Field when he was attacked, with the unidentified attackers reportedly stealing cash before fleeing the scene, according to the NPD post.
The victim reported being struck in the head and stabbed multiple times in both arms and one leg.
Police have yet to find the suspects and ask anyone with information to call 413-587-1100.
