I am writing to thank Marjorie Hess and Rudolph Talaber for their generous contributions to Forbes Library enabling the community to proudly open the Hess Outdoor Performance Stage. This project, funded also through the efforts of Mayor Gina-Louise Sciarra and constant library supporter Sen. Jo Comerford will make a difference far into the future.
Other contributions from The Friends of Forbes, AARP Massachusetts and other donors made Saturday’s dedication ceremony a celebration of community in many ways.
I want to single out Trustee Debin Bruce who, along with Forbes Library Director Lisa Downing and Assistant Director Molly Moss worked tirelessly to make this happen.
This venue will be an opportunity for Northampton residents to share space in an uplifting and positive manner. A good example of that was the dance party led by the O Tones following the ceremony. Way to go, everyone.
