Cyrus Arwade led Amherst past West County, 16-8, with a dominant performance on the mound in PVYBL Koufax Division play at Mohawk Regional School on Wednesday.

Arwade sat down the first three batters of the game on strikes, while the Hurricanes’ offense potted six runs in the top half of the inning to get out to a healthy lead.

The ‘Canes collected 14 hits in the victory, with two doubles from Oliver Howard and Jack Bajnoci and a three-bagger from Agho Mankin.

Arwade added three RBIs at the plate for Amherst.

Amherst 10, Turners Falls 4 — Another fast start pushed the Hurricanes past the Thunder at Amherst Middle School on Tuesday.

ย Daniel Lebron and Jack Bajnoci contributed hits, while Agho Mankin mashed a double up the middle, to push six runs across the plate right away.

Cyrus Arwade and Jonah Sommers also finished with multi-hit games.

Gus Garrett Peltier surrendered two runs in four innings on the bump for the ‘Canes.

Amherst edged Palmer in the championship game of the Koufax Division at Legion Field last Saturday.

Theo Garrett Peltierย hauled in the deciding out with a catch in left field as the Cyclones threated to walk-off with a pair of runners in scoring position with two outs.

Jack Bajnoci, Walker Austin and Agho Mankin recorded two hits, with Mankin leading the charge with four RBIs.
