Greenfield, MA – It is with deep sorrow that I announce the passing of my granddaughter Amanda Rider. Amanda was born on July 24, 1987, in Northampton, MA .
Amanda was a graduate of Easthampton High School, UMass Amherst and was presently attending Springfield College studying for her master’s degree in social work. Her lifetime ambition was to help other people. She worked at Baystate Franklin Medical Center in Greenfield.
Amanda is survived by her loving grandmother Sandra Eddy of Easthampton, her cousin Joanne Connelly of Milton and many other cousins in the Boston area. Amanda was predeceased by her mother Carrie Rider, her aunt Tracy Rider and her grandfather Richard Eddy and her great grandparents Edward and Jane Martsek.
Amanda touched the lives of everyone who had the honor of knowing her. She leaves behind a legacy of love, strength and compassion that will live in all of us.
It will be a private service and burial. Mitchell funeral home is handling the arrangements.
