The Hampshire girls soccer team pulled out an impressive 3-1 victory over Frontier on Tuesday to remain unbeaten to start the 2026 season.
Morgan Lawler scored twice and assisted on another while goalkeepers Karaghan Rogalski and Emilia Berrena combined for four saves to highlight the Raiders’ win.
Addie Miklasiewicz scored Hampshire’s other goal, which moves to 4-0-1 this season.
The Redhawks’ goal came from Skyler Steele.
Amherst 4, Southwick 2 — The Hurricanes matched a season high in goals scored in the victory over the Rams.
Maeve Fitzgerald (goal, assist) and Nora Hannah (three assists) were the top point-getters for Amherst.
Aliya Morales-Fernandez picked up the win in goal for the ‘Canes with nine saves.
Minnechaug 3, Belchertown 2 — The Orioles mounted a valiant second-half comeback, but could not overtake the Falcons.
Trailing 2-0 at halftime, a pair of goals from Aubrey Klingensmith willed Belchertown back into this one.
Boys soccer
Hopkins 2, Pioneer 1 — Owen Cain scored the deciding goal for the Golden Hawks, who won their second straight game.
Granby 4, Mahar 0 — Gaje Carter shut out the Senators with four saves as the Rams got back in the win column.
Gabriel Helbok (two goals) and Brandon Carillon (goal, two assists) paced the offense for Granby.
Monson 3, Smith Academy 0 — Goals continue to be difficult to come by for the Falcons in their fifth consecutive loss.
Will Dowling played well in his second career start in goal for Smith Academy, concluding with seven saves.
Pittsfield 4, Amherst 2 — The ‘Canes dropped their second game in a row in the loss to the Generals.
Alex Pobezinskiy and Fernando Aguila found the back of the net for Amherst.
Field hockey
Smith Academy 1, Amherst 0 — Bella Bramucci notched the game-winning goal for the Falcons versus the ‘Canes.
Chloe Avery picked up the shutout for Smith Academy with five saves.
Amherst goalie Kayla Kim collected six saves.
Golf
Hampshire 167, Frontier 180 — Brayden Fennessy’s even-par round of 35 led all golfers in the match at Blandford Country Club.
The Raiders improved to 9-2.
Easthampton 164, Central 240 — The Eagles looked dialed in their sixth win in a row.
Easthampton’s Tanner Kmetz shot two-over 37 for medalist honors at Wyckoff Country Club.
Pope Francis 168, South Hadley 176 — The Cardinals nipped the Tigers at Ledges Golf Club.
Richie Brown earned co-medalist honors with a four-over 40 for South Hadley.
Girls volleyball
South Hadley 3, Chicopee Comp 0 — Grace Matyszewski powered the Tigers past the Colts.
Matyszewski mustered 11 kills, 10 digs and five aces as South Hadley picked up its third win in a row.
Khloe Constantine contributed 12 digs for the winners, which won by scores of 26-24, 25-16, 25-17.
Belchertown 3, West Springfield 1 — Make it four straight wins for the Orioles after the road win over the Bulldogs.
Olivia Skora (37 assists, 13 digs), Cassidy MacLean (19 kills) and Kaiya Cavanaugh (28 digs) highlighted Belchertown’s victory.
Longmeadow 3, Amherst 1 — The Hurricanes let a 1-0 set advantage slip in the defeat to the Lancers, their first loss of the season.
Set scores finished at 25-17, 14-25, 16-25, 20-25.
Central 3, Easthampton 1 — The Eagles avoided the sweep, but lost at home to the Golden Eagles.
Set scores were 17-25, 25-22, 14-25, 18-25.
Kaylin Dumas (six kills), Brooke Skowron (18 assists) and Summer Routhier (13 digs) played well for Easthampton.
Cross country
Amherst 18, Minnechaug 43 (boys) — Calvin Miller and Otis Fairey placed first and second for the Hurricanes’ boys in the dual-meet win.
Three days prior, both Amherst cross country teams took second place at the Amherst Invitational. The boys’ team was clipped by North Andover, despite Calvin Miller winnin the overall race in 16:18, while the girls’ team fell short to Concord-Carlisle.
Smith Voc 24, Veritas Prep 31 (boys)
Smith Voc 15, Veritas Prep 50 (girls) — The Vikings swept Tuesday’s dual meet in dominant fashion.
Smith Voc’s Theo Wojcik won the boys race in 15 minutes, 30 seconds while Alexa Peters triumphed for the girls’ squad, crossing the finish line in 25:55. Both teams raced on a 2.5-mile course.
Gateway 23, Easthampton 32; Gateway 15, Monson 50; Easthampton15, Monson 50 (girls) — The Gators took the tri-meet, highlighted five runners in the top 10.
Anya Niles (23:28) and Ava Christie were Gateway’s first two finishers.
Gwen Banz and Sabine Ritchie placed third and fourth overall and counted as the Eagles’ top two finishers.
