Nora Hanna was the difference-maker for the Amherst girls soccer team in its 2-1 win over Monson on Wednesday afternoon.

Hanna netted both goals against the Mustangs, guiding the Hurricanes to their third consecutive win.

Aliya Morales-Fernandez made four saves between the pipes for Amherst, which improved its record to 4-3 overall.

Pope Francis 3, Belchertown 2 — The Orioles never led in their loss to the Cardinals, their third in four games.

Aubrey Klingensmith and Aubrey McCain found the back of the net for Belchertown in the second half while Ava Stelmokas took the defeat in goal despite racking up eight saves.

Boys soccer

South Hadley 2, Frontier 1 — The Tigers edged the Redhawks yet again in the latest installment of their rivalry.

The Tigers have now swept the season series against Frontier, plus have won three in a row versus the Redhawks, dating back to last season’s 1-0 victory in the MIAA state tournament.

McCann Tech 2, PVCICS 0 — The Dragons ran out of gas in their shutout against the Hornets.

Field hockey

Belchertown 4, Hampshire 2 — The Orioles snapped their two-game tie streak with the victory against the Raiders.

Kian Roy and Jocelyn McMahon each recorded two goals for Belchertown, while goalie Lila Roy registered five saves. Addi DiBona also notched a pair of assists for the Orioles.

Hampshire’s Neely Rondeau and Sunali Driver scored in the defeat.

Girls volleyball

South Hadley 3, Commerce 0 — The Tigers returned to their winning ways in the sweep against the Raiders.

Tierney Matyszewski led South Hadley in kills with seven, Grace Matyszewski had the most digs with 14 and Maya Lamarande concluded with the most assists with seven.

Set scores read 25-9, 25-11, 25-21 in favor of the Tigers.

Smith Voc 3, Southwick 1 — The Vikings just missed out on the sweep as the Rams forced a fourth set on their home court.

Set scores came in at 25-11, 25-17, 18-25, 25-15.

Smith Voc secured 135 digs as a team in this one, with Hecmarie Diaz-Lopez leading the way with 46.

Central 3, Belchertown 0 — The Orioles struggled to solve the Golden Eagles in the shutout.

Kaiya Cavanaugh’s 22 digs was a highlight for Belchertown.

Golf

Belchertown 158, Monson 179 — Andrew Wright shot one-over 37 to pace the Orioles at Cold Spring Country Club.

Wright received co-medalist honors, while teammate William Mitus (39) also broke 40.

Easthampton 163, Ware 221 — Amelia Gruber’s two-over 37 for the Eagles led all golfers in the match at Cold Spring Country Club.

Tanner Kmetz carded a 39 for Easthampton as well.

West Springfield 163, Hampshire 165 — The Raiders saw their seven-match win-streak come to a close in the loss to the Terriers at Springfield Country Club.

Three West Springfield golfers shot below 40, while Brayden Fennessy (39), Kameron Locke (41) and Declan Butler (41) counted as Hampshire’s top three scorers.

Girls soccer

Smith Voc 7, Hoosac 0 — Four points from Erin Miller and three points from Kate Wolcott pushed the Vikings to their sixth straight win.

Miller managed a hat trick and one assist while Wolcott posted two goals and an assist.
