HOLYOKE — Police are investigating a shooting early Wednesday morning at Appleton and Elm streets that left one man with non-life threatening injuries.

Holyoke Police Lt. James Albert said that officers responded to the large apartment complex at Appleton and Elm streets at 9:23 a.m. for reports of shots fired.

Soon after arriving at the scene, Albert said, officers were told that a male victim with a single gunshot wound to the leg was at Holyoke Medical Center. While at the scene, officers found two separate piles of shell casings, each of a different caliber, with at least 10 shots fired in total, according to Albert.

Albert said police believe that one shooter was outside of the building and the other was in a hallway. Another person was arrested at the scene for disorderly conduct, however that arrest is unrelated to the shooting at this time, Albert said.

Police do not have any suspects and are continuing to investigate the incident, Albert said.
